Hunterdon Health offers comprehensive rehab services Monday through Friday, including evenings, at all of our state-of-the-art facilities located throughout Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Counties.

Getting Started

A therapist will meet with you to perform an evaluation and create a comprehensive program to achieve goals based on your needs. Patients and therapists work as a team to achieve the goals of recuperation. The same therapist treats the patient at each visit, building rapport and trust – along with motivation. Your rehabilitation will include hands-on care, the use of appropriate exercise equipment, and follow-up exercises to allow you to safely continue your program at work or at home.

With the exception of some insurances, a prescription is NOT required to receive physical therapy. Occupational therapy does require a physician’s prescription. A physician’s prescription may come from a primary care physician, specialist, or other rehabilitation care provider.

I had been suffering with right lower back discomfort since August 2022.
As a golfer this created significant loss of enjoyment of a sport that I do on almost a weekly. I was referred for rehab and started at the Bridgewater center because of its convenience to my office and home.
I worked with Jared Kaplan, PT at the Bridgewater center. He is very thoughtful knowledgeable, caring and very serious about his field of care. He asked many questions, did a thorough physical exam and created a comprehensive program of stretching and strengthening exercises. We met weekly to review, assess, and adjust the treatment as we went along.
Mr. Kaplan practices scientifically and holistically. He asks questions, is interactive, and works very hard at providing above average care. He is an asset your rehab department. I would recommend him for a more senior and supervisory position but only if he could still offer his rehabilitation skills in the help of others.

Having completed my successful therapy I was referred by the Bridgewater center to Michael Benson, PTA at the Flemington center to have my golf swing analyzed and create a swing that would protect my back and allow me to perform at my maximum level while protecting my back from potential recurrence and future problems.

My experience with Mick at the Flemington center was above and beyond what I expected. I thought it would be a basic review of my swing and some simple tips on a better more physiologic swing. Instead I experienced a very serious in-depth scientific analysis of the golf swing. How my swing compares to a better balanced less stressful swing and a comprehensive analysis of my swing which showed the strengths and weaknesses of each joint complex from neck to ankles. After this review I was given exercises and stretches to improve these weaknesses and most important protection of the lower back.
Finally, I had an active 3D image of my swing. Based on this interactive 3D image I was able to see and feel the swing that would give me the best performance and results while at the same time protecting my back and other critical joints.
This was a very important experience for increasing longevity while increasing performance primarily for the golf swing but also more importantly for my complete health program. I strongly believe that this will reduce the need for pain relief, reduce down time, the need for emergency care, and improve performance in all aspects of physical activities in which I participate. I have had positive results already.
